City Escape

The focus of each post is a walk, linking some famous highlights, but also my personal favourites! I encourage you to take my map as a guide to lose yourself in the little streets, but you can always trace back your steps to a couple of highlights in the neighbourhood. For each of the cities…

Limburg

To go for a change of scenery, you don’t always have to go far – already when you drive a couple of hours, you will encounter country sides that you’ve never visited before. That’s what my family and I did in order to escape the city – turning the tables for once!

Mont Saint-Michel

This tidal island, crowned by an impressive abbey, is the 3rd most important tourist attraction in France next to the Eiffel Tower and the Palace of Versailles. Yet only around 30 people live there.

Düsseldorf

In the city nicknamed the Longest Bar of the World (Längste Theke der Welt), you’ll not be surprised they love to get together after work to grab a beer and they love a good party.

Antwerp

At the heart of Western Europe you’ll find this capital of fashion and diamonds. A city that enjoyed its Golden Years in the 16th century, but did not stop reinventing itself since then.
